This website is dedicated to Wesley University of Science and Technology, Ondo (WUSTO) to further introduce the great Institution to the entire world and to gather financial and material support from everyone around the world. The Proprietor of Wesley University of Science and Technology, Ondo is Methodist Church Nigeria. Methodist Church Nigeria was established in the country in 1842 by the Methodist Society from Britain. While engaging in their main goal of evangelizing and converting the people, the Methodists recognized the need to train a number of people who can read the Bible and serve as assistants to the Missionaries. The Methodists therefore ventured into education of the people and set up the first "Nursery of the Infant Church" in 1843. This marked the first initiative in establishing schools in Nigeria. It is an acclaimed fact that most of the problems of higher institutions in Nigeria hinge on funds and its availability. With this foresight, necessary efforts are made to provide adequate funding for Wesley University of Science and Technology, Ondo through bequests from the proprietors, fees by students, consultancy services and research, and now through this website made possible by the Development Committee In America. In Conclusion, while the Wesley University of Science and Technology, Ondo has taken-off on facilities provided along Ife-Ondo Road in Ondo Town with structures that are meant to be permanent, development of the permanent site, a 221 (Two Hundred and Twenty One) hectare of virgin land at Liyetu Village, along Ondo Ore Road has commenced. It is expected that the University would be in full operation on both sites within the first 8 (eight) years of take-off. |
